Church brings Nativity scene to life

The Church of the Nativity in the town will be a site for one of the Bible’s time-honored scenes.

The church will present a re-enactment of the night in Bethlehem when Jesus was born by setting up a living Nativity scene at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, and again at 6 p.m. that same evening on the front lawn of its campus, 1530 Colvin Blvd., Town of Tonawanda.

The real-life Nativity scene will feature live animals, a stable reminiscent of days long ago, and church members portraying the story of the birth of Jesus.

Guests are welcome to join other members of the church in singing Christmas carols.

Refreshments including hot chocolate and cookies will also be served during the event.

Also, for the holiday season, the church’s congregation welcomes individuals to its Christmas Eve services being held at 7:30 and 11:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24.

For additional information, call 875-3365 or visit the church’s website at www.nativityucc.org.
