Death Notices

AUNGST, C. William, of Tonawanda, died Monday, May 11, 2015. Mr. Aungst was a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; three sons, William, Frank and Edward; three daughters, Catherine Kazukiewicz, Caroline Aungst and Calire Granville; three stepsons, Jeremiah, Joseph and John Horrigan; five stepdaughters, Karen Shea, Patricia and Elizabeth Horrigan, Margaret Gillig and Kathleen Flaherty; 26 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one sister, Jewel Wink. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine, and stepdaughter, Mary Horrigan. A Mass of Christian Burial was held May 16 at St. Christopher’s Church. Arrangements were made by the Lombardo Funeral Home.

CASSENTI, Mary V. (nee D’Amico), of Tonawanda, died Sunday, May 10, 2015. She is survived by two sons, Robert and James; one daughter, Natalie Leaver; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis. Funeral services were held on May 15 at the Creekside Assembly of God Church. Arrangements were made by the Lombardo Funeral Home.

GAMMONS, Virginia, of Tonawanda, died Sunday, May 10, 2015. She is survived by two sons, Cholley Moses and Alvester Jacobs III; three daughters, Cheryl Abell, Michele Dawson and Benita Bowens; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six brothers, Cholley Gray, Theodore Jones and Leadley, Patrick, Alonzo and Bobby Cray; and three sisters, Lillie Darby, Valeria Cray and Linda Randle. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 16, at the Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements were made by the Lombardo Funeral Home.
