Ken-Ton Chamber to host more events in 2018

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director

You may not be aware of all the ways the chamber supports our local community, as we are involved in some way, either directly or indirectly, with so much of what is happening in the Ken-Ton community.

Throughout the past month, the Chamber Board and I have undertaken numerous initiatives to connect with our community.

More events are scheduled this year and, yes, you are invited.

Our yearly golf tournament, monthly luncheons and networking events will continue. New events are scheduled, such as a Community Day & Vendor Showcase for June 17; a health fair in October; and an annual member awards and recognition dinner already in the planning stages. There could not be a more ideal time to become part of the Ken-Ton Chamber of Commerce.

A “cross-platform marketing” approach will be implemented to inform and “connect” the chamber membership and the community of our events and initiatives.

Enhanced website functionality and creative use of Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and MeetUp will allow for businesses to connect to businesses and business to connect to consumers, and vice versa.

There are several events scheduled for the near future. Join us as Dr. Richard Bloomberg, Kenmore Mercy Hospital’s chief of robotic surgery, discusses how robotic-assisted surgery is revolutionizing the health care industry. This free event will be held from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. The event includes a continental breakfast.

Space is limited, and reservations are required. Call 874-1202 or email info@ ke-ton.org by Jan. 22 to RSVP. On Feb. 9, Town of Tonawanda Supervisor Joseph Emminger will present the State of the Town address to businesses and community residents. The luncheon will be held at Classics V Restaurant on Niagara Falls Boulevard. Check-in begins at 11:15 a.m., with lunch scheduled for noon. Reservations are required. The cost is $25 in advance, and a reservation is required by Feb. 5 by calling 874-1202 or emailing info@ke-ton.org.

Please welcome our newest members, including Planet Fitness, which has a new location in the Town of Tonawanda on the corner of Sheridan Drive and Delaware Road. It has a very impressive facility with treadmills as far as you can see and a hydro-massage unit you just have to try. Stop in for a tour.

We also welcome locally owned and operated Buffalo Roadhouse Grill, located at 1980 Niagara Falls Blvd. It has been an award-winning restaurant for years, serving made-from-scratch, quality food. It is open daily for lunch and dinner.

We are here for you and to “connect” you, so feel free to contact us with input on how we might best serve you in 2018.
