Grief Support meeting set for Jan. 17

A Grief Support Meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at First Trinity Lutheran Church, at 1570 Niagara Falls Blvd. in the Town of Tonawanda. Ron Opferbeck will be speaking on “Naming Grief” with a video and discussion. For more information, call 835-2220.

Blood drive, fundraiser slated

The City of Tonawanda Fire Department is hosting a blood drive and fundraiser for Jed Woomer’s Open Heart Memorial Scholarship from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at 44 William St., Tonawanda. There will be food, drinks, baskets and live music. All proceeds will go to the scholarship fund for a deserving senior from Tonawanda High School.

Middle school dance planned for Jan. 27

St. Andrew’s Catholic Youth Organization will sponsor a middle school dance from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at St. Andrew’s McNulty Hall, 1545 Sheridan Drive, Kenmore. Admission is $5 per student, which includes free beverages. Only middle school students are allowed to attend, and appropriate casual clothing is required.
