Be part of a history-making aerial photograph

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director

We are so excited to invite the entire community to participate in a really fun project. Bring your family and friends to the Community Day and Vendor Showcase that will be held at Lincoln Arena from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 17.

We have heard that there is some confusion about whether or not the event is free for the public. Please read further for clarification.

The Business Showcase, Kid Zone and entertainment are free for all to come and enjoy a wonderful Father’s Day with the whole family. Lincoln Arena will also be full of small- and medium-sized businesses promoting their wares.

Indoor and outdoor activities are planned for children and adults. There will be plenty of Chiavetta’s barbecue and food trucks to enjoy as well as live music by Denzel Ward and Cool Platinum. The event will kick off at 11 a.m. on the show-mobile stage with a special solo performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” sung by 8-year-old Gavin Kane. This will be followed by a puppet show performed by Arose For You.

Also taking the stage that day will be Kenmore’s own Clann Na Cara Irish dancers along with a duo from Fred Astaire Dance Studio. And if that was not enough, there is a special take-home project and face painting for the young ones as well as an educational archeological dig. Outdoor games will be available on the grass, and a professional photo booth will be set up for you to capture a family photograph.

Come early and make sure you enter for a chance to win a free grill. All fathers can enter for free. For an extra chance to enter, look for our ad in the Bee News insert on June 6.

We have added a twist that is designed to create a long-lasting image that will be used for years to come. The whole community is encouraged to be part of a history-making aerial photograph of people. For a small fee you will receive a color-coordinated

T-shirt, Chiavetta’s barbecue and live music.

We are seeking community involvement to make this a success. Order your participation package online by the June 1 deadline. Early entries, received by May 25, will receive an extra chance to win the barbecue grill giveaway. We will order all the shirts and have them available the day of the event for pickup.

If you don’t have access to the internet, then please call our office at 874-1202. Next month, bring the whole family and enjoy a wonderful day on June 17.
