What's Going On

Community Day slated for June 17

The Ken-Ton Chamber of Commerce will host a Community Day and Vendor Showcase from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 17, at Lincoln Arena, 1200 Parker Blvd. The free event will feature indoor and outdoor activities for children and adults, and medium-sized businesses promoting their wares. There will also be Chiavetta’s barbecue and food trucks, as well as live music by Denzel Ward and Cool Platinum. Visit www.ken-ton.org for more information.

Grief Support Group meeting planned

A Grief Support Group meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at First Trinity Lutheran Church, 1570 Niagara Falls Blvd., Town of Tonawanda. Speaker Michele Marabella, individual and group therapist, will talk about “Good Grief-Price of Loving – Secondary Losses.”

Fishing Derby slated at Niawanda Park

The City of Tonawanda’s Kids Fishing Derby will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 16, at the Niawanda Park Bandshell, located on River Road. The free event includes the following age groups: 7 and under; 8 to 10; 11 to 13; and 14 to 16. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and an awards ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m.
