Beechwood names new director of spiritual care


Ken Keenan Ken Keenan Tonawanda resident Ken Keenan, a former chaplain at Hospice Buffalo, has been selected to become the new director of spiritual care for Getzville-based nonprofit Beechwood Continuing Care.

In his new role, the New York City native will be responsible for meeting the spiritual needs of Beechwood’s residents, which reflects Beechwood’s mission of “mind, body, spirit.”

Keenan is looking forward to the opportunity.

“Everyone has their individual spiritual needs,” he said, in a prepared statement. “I will assist in any way I can, whether it’s helping them cope, stay optimistic or feel hopeful. I’ll do this through pastoral counseling, prayer, religious services and in any other way that will benefit our residents.”

Keenan holds a master’s degree in divinity from Christ the King Seminary and a master’s degree in philosophy from Fordham University.

Beechwood said Keenan is also working to expand its spiritual care volunteer program, and asks anyone interested in joining him to call 458-1905, ext. 7109.
